Stewarding the vCon ecosystem.
Vconic Labs is where the vCon standard, its open-source platform, and its growing ecosystem converge. Led by Thomas Howe and supported by Jeremie Miller and Joe Hildebrand, Labs shepherds vCon through the final IETF process, and maintains Conserver.io, the open-source engine at the heart of most every new vCon application deployment.
Three pillars anchor
everything Labs does.
Standards
Thomas authored the vCon specification corralling dozens of senior industry leader's input, and is leading it through the IETF standards process to completion. Thomas is supported by Jeremie Miller (creator of Jabber/XMPP, the open standard behind billions of messages) and Joe Hildebrand (former Cisco Distinguished Engineer, Mozilla Global VP, IETF Board member).
The deep knowledge in voice and conversational tech deeply leverages the learnings of real-time messaging standards, and the experience in global adoption ecosystems.
Open Ecosystem
Conserver.io is our open-source production engine - the developer tooling, core libraries, and reference implementations anyone can use to build on the vCon standard. MIT-licensed. Contributed to by operators, platform vendors, and telecoms. Run it yourself, fork it, ship on top of it. It's the base layer for Vconic's enterprise deployment platform.
Labs also partners with TadHack to run telecom industry hackathons and developer events that bring new builders into the vCon ecosystem and surface real-world use cases.
Venture Exploration
As the vCon ecosystem matures, application patterns emerge. Labs is positioned to see them first. When a pattern shows real traction - validated by developer activity, partner interest, and market signal - Labs explores early-stage collaboration opportunities. This is venture creation from the inside of the ecosystem, not from the outside looking in.
