The team passionately building the foundation to open up conversational data.
Vconic's CTO, Thomas Howe, is a co-creator of the vCon standard and the lead contributor to the IETF vCon Working Group, with named authorship on multiple active drafts, including the SIP signaling integration and the GDPR lawful basis framework.
Two years of live deployments across enterprise, BPO, and emergency services have hardened the standard into infrastructure ready for ratification this year.
Built from inside operations,
not theory.
The vCon engine wasn't designed in a lab. It was built and battle-tested inside STROLID, a live auto-industry BPO running 250K+ monthly conversations – supporting real consent enforcement, real compliance demands, real agent performance pressure, and the gap every operator knows between recorded audio and operational intelligence. The standard came out of that operational reality, drove requirements for our open-sourced production engine, and is now reaching IETF ratification.
We know contact center operations because we built the standard from inside one. That experience shapes everything Vconic brings to BPO, telecom, and enterprise customers today.
This isn't our
first IETF.
Two of Vconic's co-founders, and one of our advisors previously built Jabber/XMPP, the open standard that became the foundation for global real-time messaging across every major platform. Open standards are how this team has chosen to build, twice now, because infrastructure this important belongs to the ecosystem rather than to any single vendor.
We've built one open standard the industry adopted. We're building another.
